1. Description of services

CardFolio is an app for managing and valuing your trading-card collection. The app helps you record your cards and sealed products, organize them into collections, and track their estimated market value over time. CardFolio does not itself process purchases or sales of cards or products and is not a marketplace.

CardFolio is offered in a free version (Free) and with a paid subscription (CardFolio Pro). Free includes, in particular, up to 30 single-card scans per calendar month, up to two collections, and up to two free page scans per calendar month. CardFolio Pro removes these Free quotas and unlocks the features marked as Pro in the app. The specific set of features is shown in the app before a subscription is purchased.

During a testing or beta phase, we may temporarily grant selected accounts access to CardFolio Pro free of charge. This does not create a right to permanent free access.

2. CardFolio Pro, prices, and term

CardFolio Pro is currently offered for €4.99 per month or €34.99 per year. The price, currency, applicable taxes, and billing period displayed by the relevant app store immediately before purchase are authoritative. Regional prices may differ.

We currently do not offer a free trial; billing starts when you take out the subscription. If we offer a trial in the future, the terms shown to you by the relevant app store before purchase apply.

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each term for another billing period unless you cancel before the renewal time specified by the app store. Billing is handled by the app store using the payment method stored there. We do not receive complete payment details such as credit-card or bank-account information.

3. Cancellation, restoration, and refunds

You can cancel CardFolio Pro at any time through the subscription management of the app store where you purchased it. Cancellation stops automatic renewal; Pro generally remains available until the end of the billing period already paid for. Purchases can be associated with the signed-in CardFolio account again through Restore purchases, to the extent supported by the app store and the store account used for the purchase.

Billing, cancellation, and refunds are generally handled by the relevant app store under its terms. Mandatory consumer rights, including any statutory withdrawal, warranty, or refund rights, remain unaffected.

Deleting your CardFolio account does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through an app store. To avoid further charges, cancel the subscription separately in the store's subscription management.

4. Fair use and protection against abuse

CardFolio Pro removes the monthly Free scan limit but is subject to a fair-use limit of currently 4,000 scan operations per calendar month to protect service availability and prevent automated or abusive use. Failed scans that are technically refunded are not finally counted against this allowance. In the event of unusual or automated use, we may temporarily limit requests, prohibit evident abuse, and take necessary protective measures after review.

Limits may not be circumvented by using multiple accounts, automated requests, manipulation, or other workarounds. Material changes to paid services or limits will be made only in accordance with applicable legal and contractual requirements and will be announced transparently.

5. Invite friends (referral programme)

The referral programme lets you invite others to CardFolio. The following conditions apply to participation in addition to these Terms of Use. Participation is voluntary and free of charge.

Your code. Every CardFolio account receives a personal invitation code, which you can find and share under Settings → Invite friends.

Redeeming. The invited person enters the code in the app. This is only possible if

• the invited person's account is no more than 14 days old,
• no CardFolio Pro subscription has ever been taken out for that account through an app store; a free trial that has been started also counts as a subscription,
• no other code has been redeemed for that account (exactly one code can be redeemed per account; a redeemed code cannot be changed afterwards),
• it is not the person's own code, and the inviting person was not themselves invited with the invited person's code.

Redeeming a code does not by itself give rise to any claim to a reward.

Reward. As soon as the first paid billing period of CardFolio Pro has been paid for the invited person's account,

• the invited person receives one month of CardFolio Pro,
• the inviting person receives one month of CardFolio Pro, or two months if the invited person chose an annual subscription.

A free trial is not a payment; in that case the reward only arises with the first paid billing period afterwards. Purchases in app store test environments are not payments within the meaning of these conditions. An inviting person receives at most twelve reward months per calendar year; further invitations in the same calendar year trigger no reward for them, while the invited person's reward remains unaffected.

Using reward months. Reward months are credited to your account and converted into free Pro time as soon as you have no Pro access running: immediately if you have no running subscription, or after the end of a running subscription or other Pro activation. Several reward months are used one after another. A reward month does not pause, extend or replace an app store subscription; its billing continues independently under the store's terms. Reward months have no cash value, are not paid out, are not offset against store prices and are not transferable.

Refunds. If the payment that triggered a reward is refunded, the reward lapses for both sides. Credit not yet used is reduced accordingly; Pro time from a reward already running ends correspondingly earlier. After a refund, the same invited account can no longer trigger a reward.

Fairness and abuse. Invitations are meant for people who want to use CardFolio themselves. In particular, it is prohibited to invite your own additional accounts, to create accounts in order to obtain rewards, to use automated means, to send unsolicited mass advertising (spam) or to make misleading statements when sharing the code, such as claiming that CardFolio Pro is free for the invited person. Where abuse is reasonably suspected, we may disregard invitations, take back rewards and exclude accounts from participation. Deleting an account ends participation; unused credit lapses.

Changes and termination. We may change, suspend or end the referral programme with effect for the future. Reward months already credited remain unaffected.

Data protection. To run the programme, we store which account was invited with which code, when the code was redeemed, and whether and when a reward was booked or taken back. In the app, the inviting person only sees the number of their invitations and rewards, not the identity of the invited persons. Details are set out in the Privacy Policy.

6. No warranty for data

The catalog and value data displayed in the app (including card data, prices, and exchange rates) originate from external third-party sources. We give no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data. For further information, see the Legal Information.

7. Affiliate links

The app links to external marketplaces. The links to eBay are affiliate links: if a purchase made through them generates remuneration, we may receive a commission. This incurs no additional cost for you.

The links to Cardmarket are not affiliate links. CardFolio is not a partner of Cardmarket and receives no remuneration for these links.

The operators of the linked marketplaces are solely responsible for their content, offers, and prices.

8. Permitted use

You may use CardFolio solely for your own private purposes to manage your own collection. In particular, you may not misuse the app or its services, extract data from it in an automated manner (e.g. through scraping or bots), or use it in a way that impairs the availability or integrity of the service for other users.

9. Account and account deletion

You may delete your CardFolio account at any time, without giving reasons and without a notice period, via Settings → Delete account. Upon deletion, your CardFolio account and associated app data are deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Separate cancellation of a store subscription is governed by section 3.

10. Limitation of liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, under the Product Liability Act, for injury to life, body, or health, and in all other cases of mandatory statutory liability. Otherwise, liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law.

11. Changes

We may amend these Terms of Use, in particular to reflect changes in the legal framework or in the app's functionality. Mandatory information, consent, and termination rights remain unaffected. The effectively agreed version applies. The version relevant for consent is 2026-07-28; the date given above states the most recent update to the text.

12. Governing law

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, unless mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your habitual residence provide otherwise.
